Waterbury Torrington and Tri-Campus administration

Hartford Web Design Support 1 st Shift

Definitions:
Hi-Tech room: Include in these rooms are teaching station equipped with rack mounted DVD, VCR, PC, Document camera, wireless and wired microphones, Aux panel, ceiling mounted LCD, Plasma and full screens. All of these devices are controlled using integrated software and touch panels.

Hi-Tech Distance Learning rooms: These rooms are used for two functions, Distance Learning and Hi-tech rooms. These rooms have the added feature of running a Tamburg system over I/P and T-1 lines allowing us to run classes via Distance Learning. When these rooms are not being used as Distance Learning rooms, they are schedule as Hi-Tech rooms. These rooms also have teaching and student cameras that are controlled from the front desk.

Hi-Tech Computer Lab- Also called teaching labs. Same equipment as a Hi-Tech room but each student's station is equipped with a PC.

The Waterbury campus entertains events for public events. This consumes 10-20% of our resources. These events are scheduled between the hours of 07:00 – 21:00, Monday – Sunday.

  10. Faculty and Staff Workshops
  11. Data Communication and Media Technology Training staff, faculty and staff in services
  12. We coordinate or act as project managers for UITS, UCIMT and UCONNECT when we are offered services that are directed by Storrs .
  13. We hire student staff to support our computer labs most of the time. We cover the labs when student help is not available.
