Tri-Campus Leadership Team
March 2, 2005
Greater Hartford Campus
Present: Edna McBreen, Bill Pizzuto, Michael Menard, David Williams, Tessie Naranjo, Lin Rising, Angela Brightly, Judy DiLaurenzio, Robin Simmons, Bill Uricchio, Beverly Manning, Sheila Harris, Victor Schiavi, Bonnie Smith.
Special Guest: Alvin Wilson University Director of Government Relations
- Alvin Wilson reported on the University’s legislative priorities which are focused primarily on Budget issues this year…
Discussion centered on the negative impact the Governor’s proposed tuition freeze coupled with a eduction in state funding would have on University operations and services. It was agreed that an update would be sent to all Tri- Campus faculty and staff to increase awareness.

- Review
- Response to October 1, 2004 faculty/staff Survey
David Williams distributed a draft response asking for review and feed back within 10 days. Final version (which is to be distributed at the April 1, ’05 Tri-Campus All Faculty Staff Meeting) will be reviewed at the March 16 Leadership Team Meeting.
- Financial agreement Between CCS BGS and Regional Campuses
After review of agreement, it was suggested by Robin Simmons that a list of associated costs and revenues for all operations/services related to BGS be compiled so that we will have a complete understanding of the impact of this agreement. Each campus is to prepare a list and send it to Bonnie prior to the March 16 Leadership Team meeting.
- Team Members Responsibilities
Directors are to review list of responsibilities; Prioritize the areas/programs for which they wish to be responsible [1-3]; List those areas/programs for which they would be willing to be esponsible; Note those areas/programs for which they would not be willing to be responsible. This information is to be sent to Bonnie prior to the March 16 Leadership meeting.
- Facilities Projects
Bill Pizzuto distributed report prepared by Tessie on current facilities projects and cost information.
- Facilities Status Report
Bill Pizzuto and Tessie are to maintain status report and update it through discussion and input at the First Leadership Team meeting of each month.
- Additional Items
Bill Pizzuto gave update of his efforts to work with the UniversityAthletic Department to enhance public relations at the Tri-campus campuses. Athletes can attend campus events only outside the playing season and only voluntarily. It may be possible to put together athletic “gift baskets” as a promotional activity.
- Weather related closing/cancellation
Notification on web page was revisited. It was reconfirmed that Web Master Andy Bridges would be the first contact and that would be a back up designated. Further, it was determined that a complete Closing/Cancellation Notification Information Sheet would be sent to each student each semester.

David Williams requested update of Tri-Campus Search/Hiring
Bonnie will present updated listing at the March 16 Leadership meeting and at all future meetings.
Mike Menard
will update Leadership Team on Allied Health program at the March 30, 2005 meeting.
Bill Uricchio
demonstrated video of Iris King’s retirement party.
